Ad Campaigns with No Impressions. How Long Do I Wait?

The Full Question:

Hi Heath, we're experiencing low impressions for some new ad campaigns. Would you increase your bids after 3 days or would you wait? We doubled AMZ suggested bid? Also, Helium 10 shows we're ranking for sponsored KW's that we've not bid on. Thanks for your help.

The Answer:

If you are not getting traction with double bids and you are indexing for keywords you are not bidding on, here are some of the possible scenarios...

1. The keywords you are targeting have a very low search volume, or are seasonally out of trend

2. You have other, non-exact campaigns running and you are indexing for the search terms people used to find your product

3. Something about your listing content or backend keywords is confusing the algorithm as to what you sell, so it is not ranking you for keywords that you see as relevant and important

4. Either the category or browser nodes are not set up correctly. You can ask Seller Support if you are not sure how to check this out

5. You need to keep bidding higher until you begin to see impressions

I have used Helium 10 since around 2018 and find it to be very useful, however, it does regularly show ranking for Sponsored Ad Keywords that are not targeted. As mentioned above, this could be coming from a Broad, Auto, or ASIN campaign where the search term is not one targeted in ads.

I hope that helps and good luck!
