Amazon PPC Management - Launching: How to Take Advantage of Triple Indexed Keywords During the Launch Stage

Updated: Jul 31

Amazon PPC Management - Launching Keywords

Full Question

Hi Heath

When we gain sales from the triple kw approach, you mention that we then need to retarget the search terms as an exact match. I am not sure if this exact KW is added to the same campagin the generated it. (ie..so there is a mix of triple KW & exact words in the same adgroup)... or should we put the exact term in a new adgroup within the same campaign - or in a totally new campaign? (i understand the logic of why we retarget the Exact Search Term that converted, I'm just not 100% clear on where we put it?Thanks again.

Answer

In Amazon PPC management, the purpose of the tripled keywords during a launch is to quickly find search terms to target and take advantage of their boost in rank. Once we have around 5 keywords in a campaign we can pause the triples and start them in another new campaign to do the same.

So, yes keep them in the same ad group.

In later weeks, you can choose to have campaigns with permanent triples in them if they perform well and target any new search terms in separate campaigns. It is during launch that we use them to quickly improve organic ranking for new search terms.

If you use hyphened triples then they will act more like a Phrase match keyword yet be shown to a Broad match audience, so you benefit from a larger shopping audience with a greater control over the search terms channeled through the keywords.

I hope that helps!
